Hiking the backcountry along the North Korean border

In March the KNWN crew headed to Northeast China along the border with North Korea to explore the Changbaishan mountain.  The mountain has a volcanic crater later, have of which is in China and the other half is in North Korea.  Hiking and touring in this area can be dangerous as getting lost here can mean that "nobody is coming to get you" if you accidentally cross the border.  There are armed guard positions into North Korea, and as a westerner, drifting into the wrong zone in the backcountry would be a very, very bad situation.   The terrain itself is mellow, but there are some excellent lines with Japan-style trees just begging to be ridden.  It's blower pow and when...
